It’s not easy when the world keeps rushing forward, surrounded by haste, the constant race, competition. Where there is so much evil...

We try to find peace in many different ways. We seek it in meditation, in prayer, in closeness to nature… In the mirror-like surface of a lake before the day has begun… In the waves of the sea at sunset… In the endless view of mountain peaks… In birdsong… In the rustling of trees… In the arms of a loved one… In a child’s smile… In a morning coffee, in the quiet comfort of home, while the world is still asleep…

I love peace. I'm put off by the long lines of cars stuck in traffic, the blaring horns, and the roar of engines. I’m unsettled by the tension on people’s faces, and the chaos, nervousness, and fear in their eyes—fear of what the day might bring…

I seek peace… I grasp it wherever I can, because peace brings me happiness. A morning walk is a necessity for me—just to listen, even for a moment, to the birdsong, the rustling of the trees, to soak my eyes in greenery, to pour joy into my soul and let it stay there for the rest of the day…

Where else do I find peace? In the process of creating. When I create, I forget what weighs on me, what hurts, what gets in the way. I let my thoughts drift to a better place, gradually easing myself into a blissful state. A state of pleasure, free from worries and concerns. That state is a feast for the soul, a reset for the mind. I rest from the heavy and unpleasant, and my thoughts turn toward what is beautiful. I find the peace and happiness I long for… And when I create something truly beautiful, a smile appears—and with it, the greatest joy—my blissful state.
